This interesting and colorful rug depicts Shao Tze, the Tao god of philosphy flanked by two attendants. To their right and left are the Eight Imortals with symbols above their heads. The rug is copied from a tapestry from the period of Chien Lung (1736-1795). The rug was hand-woven of wool in India and was purchased in 1975. It is in Very Good Vintage Condition. Comes with a lengthy description of all the figures.
