Louisiane Saint Fleurant (1924-2005) was a well-known self-taught folk artist in Haiti. She started making art in her 40's and was a founder of the peasant Saint Soleil art movement. Most of her work was paintings, but she also did some small terracotta pieces brightly painted with acrylic. This piece is a good example. It's in good vintage condition, signed and dated 1997.
