These antique solid brass scissors are used for wick trimming; the trimmed part of the wick is deposited in the attached metal box. It can also be used to snuff the candle. It has metal feet to hold it off furniture to prevent wax from dripping. This type of scissors has been around since the 12th century. It's in good shape and just needs a little polishing.
